Structural Repair to the School Building: $270,000

This an immediate, pressing need. A recent routine inspection revealed serious damage to the structure of the main school building, caused in part by the earthquake of 2021.

The safety of the building is threatened, and if these repairs are not completed soon, it will require the closure of the building. If this happens, the school will be forced to close.

River Pumping Project: $50,000

In recent years, rainfall in Haiti has been insufficient to fill the reservoir that was built in order to supply water to the school and vegetable garden.  The solution is to pump water from a nearby river to the reservoir, a project that is underway but requires additional funding.

Construction of Bathrooms:   $35,000

Students and staff are currently using very primitive toilet facilities at St. Gabriel’s, and while the pavilion construction is underway, it is the time to add more sanitary toilet facilities.

Fixtures for the Newly-Constructed Pavilion: $18,000

Before discovering the structural issues at St. Gabriel’s, Friends of Fontaine supported the building of a pavilion where students will be able to eat lunch together and where the community will gather.  The pavilion will require tables a chairs so that it may be fully usable.

Sponsoring Students:   the need to sponsor students continues; for $330 per year, you may provide an education and a daily hot meal to a student.
